What is DropLog?

DropLog is a place to log the EDM sets you go to, score them, and look back on your raving history - a diary for your nights out. It's built around electronic dance music: house, techno, bass, trance, and the rest. New to a genre name? The Glossary lists every family.

Question 2

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

No - you can search artists, browse venues and festivals, and see what's coming up on Upcoming without signing in. You'll need a free account to log sets, build a logbook, follow people, and earn trinkets.

Question 3

How do I log a set?

Accepted Answer

Tap the + button, pick the artist, the place, and the date, then give it a score from 1 to 10 and tap any standouts (Music, Visuals, Crowd Vibes). You log one set per artist - a festival night with five DJs is five quick logs, not one. Add a written review if you like, and don't worry about old shows: just set the date to log something from years ago.

Question 4

The artist, venue, or festival isn't here - what do I do?

Add it yourself. When you can't find one while logging, submit the name and keep going - your log saves right away. New submissions get a quick review before they appear across the rest of the app, so yours wears a 'pending review' tag until then.

Question 5

Can I edit or delete a log?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open the log and tap edit to change the score, review, standouts, or date, or delete it to remove it entirely. Logged the wrong set or night? Relog it to the right one without starting over.

Question 6

Can I log a non-EDM artist?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you saw a hip-hop or rock act, log them like any other set - no extra steps, and it counts fully in your logbook, your stats, and your friends' feeds. The one difference is the leaderboards: DropLog ranks EDM, so acts we've marked non-EDM stay off the public boards. Everything personal and social still counts them.

How does the 1-10 score work?

You score each set from 1 to 10, with one decimal if you want to split hairs (8.5 is a real answer). There's no default - the number is always yours to set. Each range has a name, from Rough at the bottom to Perfect at the top, and an artist's overall score is just the average of everyone's logs.

Why are there two kinds of ratings?

Because a great set in a rough room is a different thing from a great room. Sets get a 1-10 score for the performance; venues and festivals also get a separate 1-to-5-star place rating for the experience - sound, layout, crowd, the whole night. That's why you rate artists with a number and places with stars.

My set says “Unverified” - did I do something wrong?

Not at all. Unverified just means we couldn't automatically confirm that show on that date - maybe nothing turned up, or our records point to a different night. Your log still counts for you and stays in your logbook exactly as you wrote it. If the date was off, look it up and relog it.

Question 10

Does verification change my stats or rankings?

Accepted Answer

Only the public side. Verified and not-yet-checked sets feed the leaderboards, search rankings, and trinkets; unverified ones sit those out, so the public boards stay trustworthy. Your own logbook and stats always count everything you've logged, verified or not.

Question 11

What happens when I mark “Going”?

It saves the show to your Plans so you don't lose track of it - no score yet, you rate it after the night. Once the date passes it moves to Ready to Log, a nudge to write it up while it's fresh. You'll find shows to mark on Upcoming, near you or anywhere.

Question 12

Who can see my logs?

Accepted Answer

On a public account, anyone can see your logs and reviews. Switch to private in Settings and only followers you approve can see them - everyone else just sees your profile. Either way, your private notes stay yours alone.

Question 13

What's a private note?

Accepted Answer

A note you can add to any log that's visible only to you - even on a public account, even to your followers. It's for the things you want to remember but not broadcast: who you came with, where you stood, the afters.

Question 14

Following a person vs. favoriting an artist?

Accepted Answer

Following is for people: their logs show up in your feed. Favoriting is for artists, venues, and festivals: it's how you keep tabs on their shows in Upcoming. So you follow your friends and favorite the acts you love.

Question 15

What are Trinkets, and how do I earn them?

Accepted Answer

Trinkets are collectible badges you earn for milestones - your first log, a country count, a perfect 10. You don't hunt for them; they show up as you log. Many level up, evolving into a new name and charm as you hit bigger numbers. The art is inspired by kandi, the beaded bracelets ravers trade.

A trinket disappeared - is that a bug?

Probably not. Trinkets are recalculated from your logbook, so editing or deleting logs can drop you back under a milestone and take one away until you cross it again. Nothing's broken - the count just follows your real history.

Question 17

What are levels?

Everything you add to DropLog earns points, which roll up into a level from 1 to 50, shown on your profile. Levels are pure status: nothing unlocks, nothing is gated. Titles: Casual (levels 1-10), Regular (levels 11-20), Veteran (levels 21-30), OG (levels 31-40), Legend (levels 41-50).

How do I earn points?

By feeding the log. Showing up is worth a little, scoring it is worth more, and writing about it is worth the most. Log a set: +20 points (5 without a score - adding one later upgrades it). Write a review (20+ characters): +20 points (on logs and place ratings alike). Log a show you'd marked Going: +10 points. Rate a venue or festival: +20 points (5 for a bare festival "was here"). Add a new artist, venue, or festival: +25 points (each, while it stays in the catalog). Comment on someone's log or rating: +5 points (first 5 a day). Like someone's log or rating: +1 point (first 10 a day). Get a like on yours: +2 points (first 20 a day). Tag a friend who then logs the show: +5 points (only if they hadn't already logged it). Invite a friend who logs their first set: +100 points. Dress up your profile: +40 points (avatar 15, home city 10, Dream Lineup 15 - one-time each).
